The Hood Canal
Not really a canal at all, the Hood Canal is a long narrow inlet of salt water beginning at the junction of the Juan de Fuca and waters near Port Townsend, extending south along the eastern edge of the Olympic Peninsula Region to Belfair. Oyster capital of the world.
Highway 101 follows the western shore of Hood Canal for most its length and passes through the communities of Quilcene, Brinnon, and Hoodsport.
